Year 10
In Year 10 students study take part in a range of sports and the key concepts of them that allow a greater understanding for each of the following areas:
- Competence
- Performance
- Replication of movement
- Application of rules
- Outwitting opponents
- Impact of a healthy active lifestyle
- Developing leadership skills and styles
Each student has the opportunity to participate in six of the following sports across the academic year:
- Fitness (fitness tests, circuit training and weight training)
- Cricket
- Athletics
- Rounders
- Cricket
- Football
- Handball
- Netball
- Tag Rugby
- Gymnastics
- Dance/Cheerleading
- Basketball
In addition to the above sports being covered in lessons there are also opportunities to take part in extra curricular clubs and represent the academy in local and London competitions.

Year 11
In Year 11 students are able to study for a Level 1 Sports Leadership Award which allows students the opportunity to develop key skills that can be applied in any workplace environment. The key factors of the course are:
- Developing leadership skills (plan and run a sports lesson)
- Play the role of the official (umpire or referee)
- Understand fair play
- Review sports activities and performance
- Understand pathways in sport
After successfully completing the course, students are awarded a certificate and are able to use this on applications to further education or apprenticeship roles as it is a nationally recognised qualification.
