Students and parents

Our partnership with parents and carers plays a crucial role in ensuring students achieve at the highest level

Often parental involvement in a child’s education reduces when they reach secondary school. We will be committed to ensuring that does not happen. Regular communication with parents/carers is incredibly important to us.

Communication

The academy will provide parents/carers with regular information and data to ensure they are informed of their child’s progress: newsletters will be emailed to parents/carers every term; reports will be compiled four times a year; progress, behaviour and attendance will be available to parents/carers online, and the academy will do its utmost to support parental engagement by offering numerous opportunities for parents/carers to meet with staff throughout the year.

Consultation

We will offer an opportunity and expect parents/carers to meet their child’s Form Tutor in the first term at the academy as well as at scheduled meetings throughout the academic year, at which parents/carers can meet with subject teachers, discuss their child’s progress and set targets.
