City of London Academy Highgate Hill, like all schools in Islington, is committed to meeting the needs of all students including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Our expectation is that students with SEN will receive an education that enables them to make progress so that they:
- achieve their best
- become confident individuals living fulfilling lives
- make a successful transition into adulthood, whether into employment, further or higher education or into training.
We will use our best endeavours to make sure that a pupil with SEN gets the support they need – this means doing everything we can to meet the pupils special educational needs.
This report answers some of the most frequently asked questions about the school and special educational needs. The format and information in this report has been developed through:
- consultation with local parents and carers by Islington Council in April 2014
- ongoing feedback from parents and carers and college staff is in progress.
We will review and update this information report regularly to reflect changes and feedback.
