Celebrating Jack Petchey Award winners at Highgate Hill

Students and staff at Highgate Hill were proud to be recognised with Jack Petchey Achievement Awards, celebrating their dedication, leadership and positive contribution to the school community. The awards highlight individuals who go above and beyond to support others and make a meaningful difference within the school.

Nisa consistently perseveres with her studies and never gives up. She is very mature and does not let the poor behaviour of others affect her. Nisa loves to sing and is a proud member of the choir. Always smiling, she has a friendly and approachable personality. She is a wonderful friend who is always there to offer support, brighten others’ days and make time to listen.

Savio is a valued friend at the school. He is an outstanding achiever who demonstrates tenacity in everything he does. Savio gives his time to support others with revision, making exam questions easier to understand. He is fun to be around and greatly appreciated within his immediate friendship group. Savio also loves reading.

Mohamed is a good friend who brings positivity to those around him and often makes others laugh. He is a fantastic role model who always takes responsibility for his actions and apologises if he makes a mistake. Mohamed aims high in every aspect of his schoolwork and is an inspiration to many. He supports others in maths by translating and explaining the questions set by the teacher during lessons. He is greatly valued both as a friend and as a role model.

Delina is a caring and kind person who always tries her best to support others. From the very first encounter with Delina, it was clear that she is one of the most generous individuals within the school community. She is a true beacon of the school’s values of Altruism, Respect and Tenacity, and regularly helps others with their studies, particularly when something is not fully understood. Delina explains questions in a clear and accessible way that helps learning make sense.

Owais is a truly wonderful friend. He is diligent, committed and aims high in every subject. He emanates warmth and positive energy within and around friendship groups and gets involved in lots of reading activities in the LRC.

Arissa is an exceptional student who loves taking every opportunity to further her learning. She is taking 4 A-levels in a wide range of subjects and has often lamented that she wishes she could have chosen more! Arissa has a particular appreciation of literature and the arts. She is a true scholar and an avid reader.

Shumaylah is a proactive and reflective leader and has progressed and developed a great deal in her leadership role. She consistently takes on feedback really well and acts on advise suggested straight away. Her organisational and peer leadership skills are admirable and exemplary. A shining example of our values: Altruism, Respect and Tenacity.

Luis always opts in and is dedicated to developing himself personally and academically. He regularly attends debate & philosophy clubs where he totally engages in specific topics and encourages his peers to be proactive. Luis is always reading and thinking and reflecting and is someone who just loves learning. He utilises the private study area until late on a daily basis, demonstrating dedication to his work. He is an exemplary of ICS intellectual curiosity.

David is an exceptional student – intelligent, resilient and reflective. He is not only academically strong but also possesses the personal qualities that will support his success in further education. Since starting his A levels, David has made excellent, steady progress and is predicted A, A, A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. He also achieved an average point score (APS) of 7.5 at GCSE. David is Head of the MDV Society and was selected for a work experience placement at Whittington Hospital in July 2025, exemplifying the ART values.

Melissa always goes the extra mile. She juggles her roles as Deputy Head of Year 9 and Office Manager with incredible dedication. She regularly puts in extra time and effort, doing far more than her job requires. Melissa is supportive, hardworking and genuinely cares for all those she works with.

Caroline consistently goes above and beyond – most notably by planning the incredible trip to CERN on behalf of another trust school, ensuring our students had a once in a lifetime educational experience and by accompanying them to the ESU debate late into the evening to support their growth and confidence. She also takes great pride in making the sixth form social space welcoming, regularly tidying and organising it. Most importantly, she approaches every day with positivity and invests genuine time in building meaningful connections with students. Her commitment, care and enthusiasm make a profound difference to our community and she is truly deserving of this recognition.
