ParentPay

The cashless catering payment system is a more convenient way to pay for school meals online using a secure service called ParentPay. ParentPay lets you make online payments to school or pay cash at local PayPoint stores.

Benefits to cashless catering and paying online include:

  1. A daily spend limit of £5.00 will be put on your child’s account to ensure that they only spend an appropriate amount each day
  2. Money put into the account can only be used for buying food from the canteen
  3. You can top up the account at anytime from anywhere you can access the internet
  4. It provides a considerably quicker service and reduces queues in the canteen
  5. Anonymity if your child is entitled to free school meals. If your child is entitled to this then their account will automatically be issued a free school meal value each day

Biometrics

Our cashless catering uses the latest biometrics technology to make life as easy as possible for students, parents/carers and staff. Students’ accounts are debited at the touch of a finger pad – no need to carry cash around and no need to wait in long queues. For your child to benefit from this, parental permission from one parent is needed for each individual child. If your child does not have permission to use the biometric system, they will be issued with a PIN.

Students, parents/carers and staff can rest assured that the fingerprint images cannot be used by any other source for identification purposes. The system uses an image of the finger to create a mathematical algorithm and then discards the finger image; only the numbers remain and these cannot be reinterpreted back into a finger image.
