Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Computer Science
The Edexcel GCSE (9-1) in Computer Science is a course designed to help students develop knowledge and understanding of computer science through studying the importance of computation in the world and how it will evolve in the future. Through practical involvement in a range of activities students will apply this knowledge and develop the skills to help them succeed in their chosen path. This qualification provides a practical approach to developing computational skills. This includes innovative, practical onscreen assessment to ensure all students develop the computational skills they need for an exciting digital future beyond the classroom.
How a student is assessed
The GCSE course consists of two separate components:
Component 1: Principles of Computer Science ,Written Exam
Component 2: Application of Computational Thinking Written and Practical Exams
