GCSE Combined Science

Combined Science

All students in the UK study Combined Science, the equivalent of 2 GCSEs unless advised to follow the Separate Sciences route but why is studying Science so important?

All of our lives are enriched by understanding the world around us, for instance studying Human Biology helps us to make informed decisions which will affect our future health. The science curriculum at COLAHH is designed to inspire a life-long curiosity about the world around us and our relationship with it. It is crucial in order to be responsible global citizens that we all develop an understanding of how our actions can impact our environment. We deliver an ambitious curriculum with a strong emphasis on practical work which provides a stable foundation for further scientific studies and also ample opportunity for students to develop a strong transferrable skill set: planning, observing, risk assessment, sequencing, analysing, evaluating along with teamwork and communication.
